The World Premiere of ‘Elvis’ brought Tom Hanks and Austin Butler to Cannes’ red carpet. Joining them on the red carpet was Priscilla Presley, Presley’s ex-wife, who enthusiastically endorsed Luhrmann’s movie throughout. The band members Thomas Raggi, Damiano David, Ethan Torchio and Victoria De Angelis were also seen walking the carpet.

“Elvis is kind of the original superhero. He rises so high, then finds his Kryptonite and falls so low, and then a beautiful, powerful tragedy ensues.”
Luhrmann explained

The audience got to its feet after the end credits on the Warner Bros title, applauded before the lights came up, and remained standing for 12 minutes setting a 2022 record so far at the festival.

The carpet was star-studded with a long list of other celebrities showing their support, including Shakira, Sharon Stone, Ricky Martin, Kylie Minogue, Winnie Harlow, Shanina Shaik, Stella Maxwell, Adriana Lima, and Andre Lemmers.
