Daniel Roseberry, the designer behind Schiaparelli’s Spring 2024 collection, looked deep into the brand’s previous to find ideas. He was inspired by the famous 1937 Lobster Dinner Dress, which was a work of art created by Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dalí. The Lobster Dinner Dress is honored in this season’s collection, with several looks that copy its unique style.
One of the collection’s most interesting pieces is a long skirt with ruched edges that looks like the Lobster Dinner Dress. In the middle of the stage is a stunning black minidress with a large three-dimensional gold lobster embellishment on the collar.
The lobster motif is the collection’s main theme, but other sea animals, like crabs and fish, are also brought to life and shown beautifully on different clothing items. You can see all of Schiaparelli’s looks at the Spring 2024 show below. Each one shows the brand’s rich history and commitment to artistic innovation.
