PARIS, July 5 (Reuters) – Giorgio Armani welcomed guests to Paris fashion Show on Tuesday for his haute couture show, which featured a refined collection saturated in rhinestones, sequins, and glitter.
The Italian designer, whose creations have been worn by royalty and Hollywood celebrities, sent out models wearing tiered black tulle dresses, beautiful jackets with additional gloss, and translucent tops with flower patterns.
Models walked down the catwalk in floral-printed jackets and blue jodhpur-style pants fashioned from iridescent fabrics, while others showed off puffy tops or jackets wrapped in dozens of pink tulle ribbon bows.
Armani presented a collection of beautiful dresses, slender or voluminous, silky or velvety, strapless or covered in sequins, in colors ranging from Barbie pink to deep blue.
Armani, nearing 88, emerged from the darkness at the end of the presentation for his customary bow.
Paris Fashion Show, which continues through Thursday with Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Fendi shows, is a prestigious showcase for a select group of fashion businesses whose outfits are meticulously hand-sewn by highly experienced workers.
While haute couture represents a tiny fraction of luxury brand sales, it is a significant marketing driver for the industry.
