Held every year, the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week is hosted by the Italian embassy at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. From March 23rd to March 27th, the showcases will feature a range of fashion mixed with innovation and sustainability.
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), is a non-profit organization and crucial body of fashion design in India. It is represented by over 400 members and works relentlessly for its motive to promote “Made In India“.
What You Can Witness At Fashion Show
FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week is a six-day event that will be opening tonight at 8:30 pm and the fashion shows begin tomorrow at 12 pm. The event, for the first time, will be held with the physical showcases of the designs. To honor this moment, the Italian Embassy will open the night for the showcase of talented designer Rahul Mishra.
To further the joy, Manish Malhotra will be debuting his new collection ‘Diffuse‘. A surprise element for the stage is the launch of JJ Valaya’s collection ‘JJV ‘. It is a bridge-to-luxury brand that will debut with a collection crafted from TENCEL LUXE, an eco-friendly alternate for silk obtained from renewable wood sources.
You can expect to see the most renowned designers of the industry during the week-long event. A few of the designers include Tarun Tahiliani, Shivan & Narresh, Varun Bahl and Pankaj & Nidhi will be presenting their designs.
The collection ‘Nomad’ of Shantnu & Nikhil represents a softer side to the designers’ signature structured silhouettes. Meanwhile, the famous designer Suneet Varma will be debuting his very first ready-to-wear collection.
You can also expect the show stealer Payal Pratap to awe us with her stunning sustainable Bemberg collection. Antar Agni and Khanijo will be joining hands with Adidas Originals while R|Elan will collaborate with Satya Paul by Rajesh Pratap Singh.
The heights of sustainability is not the only one to blow our minds. There are also various new events such as ‘The Spotlight ‘ for the rising designers and youths that are inspiring. Soham Acharya, Shriya Khanna and Anvita Singh are some emerging youth designers on the show.
Apart from these are the world-wide known designers that you love to attend the show as well. Geetanjali Adhikari, Janette Naita Tirkey and Sunny Rasaily are a few of the personalities to look out for during the event.
