‘High Tide‘- Zimmermann’s Resort 2023 Collection dives into the deep sea of nostalgia with the ’50s and ’60s inspired looks!
Nicky Zimmermann, for her latest resort collection, chose to dive into everything nautical besides embracing the holiday-centric nostalgia with tons of flirty femininity. The Zimmermann Resort 2023 Collection, held on Tuesday, June 6, was inspired by photos of glamorous people in the 1950s and ’60s sailing, giving off relaxing yet romantic vibes. The collection, however, is not as simple as it seems to be!
“We have done particularly short dresses with bouncy and playful skirts, and put little fitted miniskirts underneath — she’s still very lady-like, but can dance and move around in them. We were playing into being fun but feminine and beautiful at the same time.”
Zimmermann explained about the collection
About Zimmermann Resort 2023 Collection
The collection is largely based on the theme with custom seasonal prints and lots of breezy dresses and knitwear. Comprising dresses with laces at the neck, shorts and sweater set with a sailboat detail, pants and sweater with flouncy cuffs and a wrap-around tie at the waist, the collection incorporates elegance as well as playfulness!
One could notice crushed canvas twinsets with nautical stripes and maritime details such as rope belts, anchor-themed hardware and custom embroidered discs on daywear along with boat shoe slides. There were also hand-drawn world map prints that were used as intricate lace embroideries to capture the theme’s essence.
Full of bouncy hemlines reinforced by a crinoline, floral appliqués, sheer blouses heavily embellished with pearls, and feminine gilded lilies, the collection was a delight to sight. But the white mini dress with a lace skirt that features the embroidery of a map of the world was undoubtedly what mesmerized all of us!
We can see that Zimmermann uplifted the colourful ‘50s ikat florals with youthful vigour by bridging them into cocktail attire. This collection is definitely the Zimmermann archetype: absolutely intricate and elaborate.
The first arrivals from the collection will be available to the public in stores and online from October.
