Gucci has chosen its new ambassador for its new jewelry collection and Jessica Chastain has been revealed as the face of the campaign. Wearing “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” necklace, the star was unveiled as the model of the new line of one-of-kind trinkets on Gucci’s social media.
“What surprising was how we entered in a territory that belonged to major jewelers, but we have gained credibility. It was something that I really wanted to do, I’ve always been obsessed with jewelry and I felt the need to complete the collection of objects that could belong to a hypothetical Gucci client.”

Literally translated to ‘Garden of Delights‘- The Hortus Deliciarum High Jewelry Collection is a stunning creation of the creative director, Alessandro Michele. As the third collection by the legendary Italian fashion house, the items embody ‘the hypothetical Gucci client.‘
Alessandro, in the collection, detailed his inspiration from across human history, such as ancient Rome and the first half of the 20th century. saying he longed to make “unique and special pieces.” Narrated by the worldwide travels of artists, scholars, and thinkers, in search for knowledge and beauty over two centuries ago, Gucci has decoded a few places that are full of wonders in this new age.
The collection is a creative ode by Alessandro to some historical and architectural eras, intertwined in time and space. He takes us on a journey that is inspired by the Grand Tour and reveals extraordinary romantic, maximalist jewels made with mastery.
In the campaign, Chastain depicts an elegant and eccentric character wearing the artistic pieces of jewelry. Jessica is known to be an eclectic collector of fashion, art, and experiences. She wears the Hortus Deliciarum jewelry representing the mementos her character that she has accumulated throughout her life travels.
The vivid and cinematic film reveals a succession of different scenes, along with the decoration of each room representing a phase in the personal history of Chastain’s character. With the art directed by Ezra Petronio and shot by Mert & Marcus, the film and its accompanying images harness voyeuristic, intimate quality and tightly-shot portraits with an atmospheric wider shot.
One of the jewelry pieces captured in the photo Jessica is wearing is a necklace set with precious gemstones and a micro-mosaic cameo of the Temple of Hercules Cori from the 1800s.
