“During Arab Fashion Week in the Dubai Design District, Anomalous worked with New Balance”
After a spectacular opening night, Arab Fashion Week Men’s Spring-Summer 2023 has moved on to Day 2 of the calendar, which features both local and international talent.
Models wearing the new Anomalous collection were the first to walk the runway, with the UAE label teaming with New Balance to debut the 9060 silhouette shoe.
“We are thrilled to collaborate and exclusively present the New Balance 9060 silhouette alongside our timeless pieces of clothing,” Anomalous creator Rabbi Rowell stated. “It transports us back in time to represent a retro-inspired appearance and feel; the tiniest things are always game changers. New Balance’s 9060 clearly displays that momentum in this collection that resonates with Anomalous Fashion’s style.”
The Anomalous presentation fused fashion and street culture. With edgy crop tops, oversized sleeves, and silky slacks, young Lebanese designer Rowell concentrated on Generation Z and millennials with his rebellious creations.
Valette Studio, a French label presented by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the French body that oversees Paris Fashion Week, was up next. Designer Pierre François Valette’s sporty collection is based on retro and psychedelic motifs, with daring rope cross-cross vests and muscle tees.
Tagueule, a Lebanese company, came to the Dubai Design District for the second time for Arab Fashion Week, with a collection of high-end leisurewear mixed with tactical gear (utilitarian pockets and straps) in the interest of practicality. The casual fits and monochrome palette, which includes vests and cargo trousers galore, are intended to represent the concept of freedom for the “woke” masses.
Day 2 of Arab Fashion Week concluded with Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco’s warm capes and kandoras in sunset tones ranging from orange-yellow to black. With his selection of stylish and elegant looks, the Filipino designer aimed to honor the UAE.
