Amidst the ongoing Fashion Weeks, the people of Ukraine and Palestine have been suffering from the harsh realities of wars. And just like everyone, the fashion model Gigi Hadid is immensely disturbed by the situation. She took to social media to spread awareness and show her support for the victims and the oppressed nations, Ukraine and Palestine.

Gigi Hadid had been spotted walking for the major fall 2022 shows at Michael Kors, Versace, and Vivienne Westwood, and many others. Over the past few weeks, the model has frequented the fashion shows for Paris Fashion Week for Fall 2022.
On the 6th of March, the American model posted a few photos of her Fall 2022 Fashion Weeks on Instagram. Her post quoted, ” Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. ”
She further elaborated, “We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something. Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

Hadid and Argañaraz with regard to this sentiment of support donated any financial support they’ve received during this time. “Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice,” wrote Hadid. “May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war—not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE.”
In these times, when people deem their work as disrespectful or criticize their industry, Gigi along with her inspiration and friend Mica Argañaraz set an example with their heartfelt words and actions. The fashion industry worldwide has been unitedly standing with Ukraine and showing their support through various means.
