From March 24 to 28, Arab Fashion Week is set to take place in both physical and virtual hybrid formats. The fashion extravaganza is full of leading emerging as well as established talents displaying their creation and art!
Arab Fashion Week will feature regional as well as internationally famed designers showcasing their fall 2022 ready-to-wear clothing lines at Dubai Design District, also famous as d3, as well as online by partnering with Meta, formerly named Facebook.
Khadija Al-Bastaki, the executive director of Dubai Design District told Arab News, “The paramount mission of AFW is to create an international platform for regional and home-grown talents to expand their wings and gain opportunities.“
This year, fashion enthusiasts can expect a diverse collection of shows during AFW, 2o22. The fashion week will bring together the highest number of Arab designers from the region, and Khadija mentioned that she is eagerly looking forward to the launch of the Swiss-made Ferronato bags.
She added, “These Ferronato bags are made using a unique meta fabric that seeks to protect user privacy by bringing fashion and technology together to enhance human security.” Other regional and international participating talents include Saudi fashion label Death by Dolls, Filipino couturier Micheal Cinco, Beirut-based fashion house Emergency Room, and Ihab Jiryis, the Palestinian couturier with Polish label Poca Poca, among many others.
Famed French Fashion house Weinsanto will also feature and present its creation during AFW as part of the ongoing alliance between the Arab Fashion Council and The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the governing body behind the French fashion industry and Paris Fashion Week.
There will also be an art installation, retail pop-ups, over 25 runway shows, and roundtables to experience the five-day fashion spectacle.
The Arab Fashion Council and AFW announced that they clubbed together last summer. And this collaboration was a great strategic masterstroke as Dubai Design District is home to the city’s creatives, designers, and artists., said Al-Bastaki.
The AFW is among a great lineup of already existing fashion weeks in Dubai, which includes the Middle East Fashion Week, Arab Men’s Fashion Week, Fashion Week DXB, and Fashion Forward.
