Jordyn Woods has brought in an early Christmas gift for plus-sized fashionistas with the launch of her size inclusive active wear brand SECNDNTURE. These super cool street-to-gym apparels are definitely worth some space in your wardrobe if you wish to work out in style. The super affordable fashion label which runs up to size 2X delivers everything ranging from modern twists to cool silhouettes and saturated hues in a minimalist yet innovative manner.
“When making this collection, a reasonable price point was very important for me. I know money doesn’t come easy and I want people to be able to enjoy the product. I also want people to understand that they are getting exactly what they pay for because the quality is there. I personally hand-picked the fabrics and our team has done many different tests to ensure quality. I [also] wanted to create a variety of different styles in an expanded size range so everyone could feel like there was something in the collection for them,” said the 20-year-old Instagram star.
“I already had the name SECNDNTRE saved in my notes for something in the future. It was a name I thought of and it all kind of made sense to use it because I feel like ‘second nature’ means something that comes natural to you. And active wear should come natural to you. You shouldn’t have to put much thought into it,” added the sultry diva.
Her pieces include cropped tops, biker shorts, bodysuits, detailed bras and high-waisted leggings which can serve as the perfect blend of style and comfort.
“When I workout, I wear the sweatband. It helps keep your core tight and maximize the workout. I decided why not kill two birds with one stone because sometimes I forget my band or it doesn’t work with the leggings I am wearing. I haven’t seen leggings with the sweatband built-in done before,” said Woods.
These leggings have been crafted using four-way stretch fabric and bonded PU waist trainer so that you can burn those calories like a sassy diva. “I love my leggings with the built-in waist band because I think it’s very innovative and I’ve never seen it done before,” Woods says. The front zipper also makes it super easy to get in and out of the workout gear.
“At the end of last year, I went through a lot of emotional stress and trauma and my outlet was working out. Working out became my therapy. Through my new fitness kick, I realized there wasn’t a good variety of affordable, good quality, and size inclusive activewear brands and got inspired to make my own,” added Woods who has come out with this medium coverage sports bra having brushed elastic straps and frontal cross cut-outs making it a perfect pick for lower impact activity.
One of the biggest talking points of this debut launch of the fashion-forward model is that all the looks are interchangeable and can be blended to come up with endless new outfit options. The racerback biker suit having a back U-scoop cut-out and double mesh detailing down the sides and on the straps, features removable cups for added comfort.
A growing trend is being experienced in the fashion industry which is opening up new gateways in the spectrum of plus sized apparels. More and more ‘straight-sized’ brands are thus venturing into this virgin territory which had been lacking adequate fashion options till now.
Wood pointed out that, “I would like to see the fashion industry continue to keep pushing diversity and not be afraid of judgment. Fashion is endless, why limit it to one body type or gender.”
This mock neck fleece hoodie from SECNDNTRE features extra-long sleeves, full length matte black ring zipper and two invisible side zipper pockets so that you can keep up with your workout regimen even when the mercury starts to drop.
Woods reminisced over growing up as a tomboy and added that, “I didn’t like clothing very much and hated going to the mall. I knew that once I got there, there was not going to be any “cute” clothes I could fit [into]. It wasn’t until later in my teens that I started finding my confidence and began experimenting with clothing. Now, I know if I experience these things, there are many other people out there going through the same thing.” We surely hope her collection will cater to similar problems faced by modern day ladies.
