As we enter the award season, the 33rd annual Gotham Awards 2023 will focus on independent films. There are nominations for ten award categories, which include 20 feature films, 11 series, and 30 performances.
Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig, Leonard DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Colman Domingo, Julianne Moore, Bradley Cooper, and Carey Mulligan were among the celebrities who attended the gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Some of the famous people who have been in the movie are Michelle Williams, Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, Jeffrey Wright, Cailee Spaeny, Boots Riley, Teyana Taylor, Juliette Binoche, Bella Ramsey, Franz Rogowski, and many more.
All of Us Strangers by Andrew Haugh, Past Lives by Celine Song, and The Zone of Interest by Jonathan Glazer are the books nominated for the award.
Some of the movies up for Best Feature are Passages, Past Lives, Reality, Showing Up, and A Thousand and One. Some of the TV shows up for Best Series are Beef, I’m a Virgo, The Last of Us, and Swarm. Penélope Cruz, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, Charles Melton, Bella Ramsey, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cailee Spaeny, Michelle Williams, Ali Wong, and Jeffrey Wright are all nominated for performance awards.
The movies Air, Barbie, Ferrari, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, and Rustin will be given awards to honor him.
The Gotham Awards will give the first Global Icon & Creator Tribute to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. It was the highest-grossing movie of 2023. Gosling was also nominated for Best Outstanding Supporting Performance for his part in the movie.
