On Wednesday night (Nov. 8), the 2023 CMA Awards were held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Some of the biggest names in country music wore stunning outfits on the red carpet.
If you look at the list of nominees, Lainey Wilson has the most, with nine. Wilson’s song is the first in 13 years to be nominated twice for single of the year. Wilson is up for an award for “Heart Like a Truck” and for being a guest artist on HARDY’s “Wait in the Truck.”
Jelly Roll is up for five awards this year, including New Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. Luke Combs and HARDY are tied for first place with four nods each. Following them are Jordan Davis, Ashley McBryde, Joey Moi (producer/mix engineer), Schmidt (songwriter-producer Jordan Schmidt), Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Wells (musician/producer Derek).
Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will host the ceremony again, and there will be a number of special performances. For example, Morgan Wallen will sing several classic country songs with Post Malone and HARDY. Jimmy Buffett died in 2011. Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, the Zac Brown Band, and Mac McAnally, who was in the Coral Reefer Band, will all perform in his honor.
