The fact is that her high-low clothes should be studied. Rihanna’s kept up her great style in Los Angeles last night when she was seen going to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation office wearing a cool, casual outfit with the necklace. She wore your grandmother’s pearls when she went out, which gave the uptown jewelry a downtown twist.
Rihanna’s outfit was made up of several layers of chains of different sizes that were all covered in pearls. The choker she wears with many strands is an old Christian Dior piece from John Galliano’s fall 2007 fashion show. (One just sold on 1stDibs for $1,800; maybe Rihanna was the lucky buyer.) The jewelry made the outfit stand out, so the rest of it was simple, but it wasn’t any less cool. She wore a double-breasted overcoat, a Khaite lingerie top, and extra-baggy pants to finish off the look. The show-stopping moment? She wore her own Fenty x Puma creeper shoes, too. She was wearing clothes that you designed yourself. Plus, it’s the biggest and best fashion move besides high-end jewelry.
